Little Doris Company is a growing family-run business supporting the New Compassionate Charity, which aims to help disabled people and their families to live healthy, happy lives.
We are currently laying the foundations for the charity, finding supporters for our cause and retailers to stock our sauces. We are also busy planning fundraising events, and putting the finishing touches to a book that tells our incredible story, which will be available next year! More details about our current and future projects can be found below. All of our projects stem from our strong belief in the Catholic faith.
Our Sauces
We have perfected a traditional family recipe to bring you our range of Ultimus sauces. Homemade and wholesome, with no artificial additives or preservatives, these tasty and versatile chilli sauces can transform any meal… and with sauces ranging from mild to fiery hot, there’s something to suit everyone!
The majority of profits from the sales of these will be invested in the New Compassionate Charity, making our work possible. Our tasty sauces will soon be available to buy online; we are also in discussions with Morrison Supermarkets plc, and once agreements are finalised the sauces, book and other merchandise will be available in a store near you!
Our Book
Divine Prisoners of Love: the Journey from fear to faith as a family tells our story; from the heartbreaking rejection of our disabled daughter by family members in our native Ghana, through a multitude of challenges, to finding a new home in the UK. An honest and open story about enduring faith against all odds, it aims to offer hope and inspiration to families in similar circumstances.
The book also explores issues around mental health, unemployment and cross-cultural beliefs, as well as looking at the needs of carers and asking important questions about a society that is moving the burden of care from the state to the individual. Truthful, encouraging and very readable, it examines these important issues with sensitivity and personal insight.
The majority of profits from this book will go to the New Compassionate Charity, helping other disabled children and their families to live fuller lives.
Our future Projects
We have a number of projects planned once the New Compassionate Charity is up and running. More details will follow soon, but they will include:
- Respite centres which offer breaks to young and adult carers
- Accessible breaks, activities and day trips for disabled children.
- Awareness campaigns about the needs of disabled people and their families.
- Community projects providing vocational training, coaching and support to young people who have a heart for the caring profession.
- A chain of healthy food outlets, with the majority of profits going to the New Compassionate Charity.
